INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS: CROATIAN CLIMBERS AT THE WORLD CUP IN INNSBRUCK

03. Jun 2025 Competitions News

Croatian representatives competed in the prestigious World Cup in Innsbruck and achieved historic results. Despite strong competition, our climbers showed impressive form.

In the lead discipline, Ivan Matić reached the semifinals – the first time a Croatian climber has done so at this event. His climbing was technically clean and mentally composed, even under intense pressure. Coaches from other countries praised his approach to solving complex sequences. In the women’s category, Ana Kovač exceeded expectations, finishing 19th overall. These results show that Croatia is no longer an unknown name on the international climbing scene.

The bouldering round presented many challenges with creative problems set by a renowned Japanese route setter. Our climbers adapted well, showing endurance and problem-solving creativity. Leon Babić stood out by reaching the zone in every problem. Although he didn’t make the finals, he was praised for his determination and focus. The performances in Innsbruck were an important lesson and experience for the upcoming seasons.
