EFFECTS OF CLIMBING AND RESISTANCE TRAINING ON CLIMBING PERFORMANCE

This systematic review and meta-analysis examines the impact of climbing-specific and resistance training on climbing performance. The study found that integrating resistance training, particularly targeting finger flexors, can significantly improve climbing-related test performance compared to climbing alone. Notably, resistance training enhanced finger strength, rate of force development, and forearm endurance. The findings suggest that climbers can benefit from incorporating resistance training into their routines to boost performance outcomes.
